The Brunei Students’ Union in the UK and Eire (BSU) in collaboration with Brunei Religious Officers’ Students Association (BruROSA) hosted the first day of their  Outreach Programme 2018 with the theme “Encompassing Your Future: Ignite the Fire Within” at Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah. The event is intended to motivate the students to work into building their future career paths and prospects, whether it involves higher education or other alternatives, while maintaining a good mental and physical health.
The event was held in the afternoon at the Student Learning Centre – Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah and joining the program were students in the lower sixth. A welcoming speech was made by Dr Zamri bin Ismail, the Deputy Principal of Academic followed by an opening remark from Ak Mohammad Hisyam Al-Yura Pg Hj Zainal Abidin, the President of BSU.

The event started with an ice breaking session followed by speeches from inspiring UK students delivered during the program, as an encouragement to the ‘A’ Level students to choose their own path, as well as working hard towards their goals in life. Speakers from the program were Shaimaa’an Nabielah Abdul Rahman, the Vice President for Administration and Finance of BSU, Ajrul Mail, the Information Secretary of BSU, Muhammad Aqil bin Awang, the President of BruROSA and Abdul Hakim Shukrin, the General Secretary of BruROSA. Games were also held throughout the program to boost teamwork and coordination among the students, facilitated by students from the UK and Eire.

The program closed with a sharing session between the students and their facilitators and and a closing remark from the President of BSU followed by a photo session. The BSU and BruROSA would also like to extend their gratitude to Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah for the opportunity to work together and in making the outreach program a success.
