OVERVIEW
The Brunei Society Award aims to recognise and celebrate societal excellence, acting as a catalyst for individual, societies and national development that is in line with our country's vision: Wawasan 2035. It attempts to equally acknowledged the hardwork and dedication given by the Society and the committees that runs it despite the arrays of societal members’ demographic and geographic, i.e. education, size, spread, religion, and ethnicity.
Building upon previous Award, the new system aims to encourage societies to go for that extra mile and take iniative to add value to the experience and satisfaction of Bruneian Students in the UK and Ireland; as well as to be more engaging with the Union, Universities and other Bruneian Societies.

STANDARDS
To achieve each standard for your society, you need to have the following points accumulated at the end of the academic year:

BADGES
The points of each badges are as follows:

COLLABORATION BADGE
Your society will need to demonstrate that they have collaborated with another Brunei Society, or any societies within the university on an event, project or campaign.
e.g Pre- Departure Briefing, BruGames, Regional Tours.

SOCIAL BADGE
Your society must create events either for social purposes or religious, as long as it is created for the members to enjoy. These events must be organized by your committee.
e.g Khatam Al- quran, Leavers’ race or Game Night.

INTELLECTUAL BADGE
To apply for this badge, your society must create events that aims at nurturing the mind; sharpening one's skills and drive. Your society also needs to demonstrate on how they have helped their members towards their degree.
e.g. hosting revision sessions, inviting a speaker to motivate your members, organize a workshop such as how to gain essay writing skills, quiz night.

INFORMATION BADGE
The article must be submitted 2 days after an event through the Information Centre or via email at information.secretary@bsunion.org and the points will be automatically added to your society's stats page. You do not need to apply for this badge. It will be calculated based on the articles that you have submitted to BSUnion.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Your society must be registered under the Brunei Students’ Union to apply for these badges.
- Societies need to have a working executive committees, consisting of at least three positions: President, Secretary and Treasurer. These positions need to be filled by different persons.
- Your society cannot apply for a badge if the event has not happened, cancelled or if the requirements are not met for each of the badges that your society is trying to apply.
- The points that your society collected throughout the year will be accumulated and counted at the end of the academic year. BSU has the right to reduce the points e.g from silver badge to bronze badge if the application for the badges fails.
- BSUnion may introduce a platinum level standard if more than an average amount of society reach Gold Standard.
