30th August 2018, Kuala Belait – More than 150 sixth form students of Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali, Kuala Belait joined the final outreach program hosted and organized by the Brunei Students’ Union in the UK and Eire (BSU) and Brunei Religious Officers Students’ Association (BruROSA). The program took place in the afternoon, with a video produced by the BSU as an introduction and official start to the program.
Following BSU’s introduction video, an icebreaking session was once again led by Muhammad Aqil bin Awang, the President of BruROSA as a warm up activity. After the icebreaking session, inspiring speeches were delivered to the students by Shuib Shahraldin, Hakim Shukrin, the General Secretary of BruROSA, and Ajrul Mail, the Information Secretary for BSU. The intent of the speeches was to show the students that there are other alternatives and pathways they can take if they do not get their desired results after the exam, and to still have passion in chasing their dreams even if there are challenges ahead. A small activity was also played during the program, as a way to show the students that obstacles should not lead to giving up and losing their vision but instead, many other opportunities can be seized through other choices.

A sharing session between participating students and their facilitators was also a part of the program, with facilitators made up of Bruneian students studying or have studied in the UK including BSU’s former president, Muhammad Hasif bin Nordin. During the sharing session, students were free to discuss any challenges they have experienced throughout their studies and facilitators would help in giving advices through their own experiences.

The program officially closed with a photo session among students with their facilitators as well as a group photo of all participating members of the program that day. The Outreach Tour 2018 with the theme “Encompassing Your Future: Ignite the Fire Within” finally wrapped up in Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali, the last stop for the program.
